DANISH SIDE: 50th Anniversary of Eline + Knud Clausen

Family gatherings are always an opportunity to capture a moment in time.

Such was that special moment when this family picture was taken in the late 1940s on the occasion of Eline and Knud Clausen’s 50th Anniversary of their home.. I recall ‘Tante Eline’ from my childhood…but, there are many faces that only look familiar – however, do not spark a name.  This is what happens when generations are removed from the events that took place before them along with the inevitable passing of the previous.

Of course, there is a serious need for identification here. (Thanks to my cousin Jan who spoke with his father Knud...we now have a full roll call of attendees..) Below is the little template i made for him that I aided in stirrup up old memories for which we now have names to the faces.

Though this took awhile to receive the names via our uncle… I am happy that all were identified except the little girl in the window's name.
