UKRAINIAN Side: A Letter from the Ukraine

Bold steps sometimes return bold information.

And sometimes, the mere receipt of an email containing a clue via an unknown administrator of forum can lead one toward the right person of your family tree. For me, this was my recent little stroke a sheer luck in taking one little clue and following it up with a bold move to inquire about the possibility of being connected via a single moment in time. With a little detective work via the internet, I found the email belonging to that clue and wrote a very simple inquiry.

Here is the amazing response as received from Viktor Lysyanyuk the following day. He is most likely a distant relative whose true connection is yet to be revealed. His contribution to my stunted paternal past is the most that any of the family has had privy to find out since some young men from that little village of Sabadash left and made their way to the United States so long ago.

He states the following through his words:
Village Sabadash organized in 1640.

One from kozaks  was remuved to this please  from town Lysyanka.
Frands named him as kozak  from Lysyanka – kozak Lysyanyuk.
Brother of my grandmother Vasilii Lysyanyuk was in America, but returned to Ukraine.
We have museum family of  Lysyanyuk.
My roots are:
Grygoryi       1985 (year  of portrets)
Anton          1933
Iosif             1918*
Peter            1894
Grygoryi      1842
Iosif            1802
kozak Lysyanyuk     – 1690-1712 ?
kozak from Lysyanka -1649
kosak Sabadash         – 1640
A most revealing little reply...I have to say.  Where this all fits in, I have yet to conclude.  I am excited to find not only the true spelling our last name; but, also that family may well be there so many miles away in the place where the name and family all started.

First, there needs to be confirmed that the dates shown above are for the most recent are years of death. This will be followed by an extended lineage from what possibly may be the brother (Iosef)* of my great-grandfather Fyodor. So, if that is true...that would confirm us as distant cousins.

I am hopeful in making our initial connection a true one.
